In this Workshop, Individuals Will:

  • Participate in exercises which foster spontaneity, trust, emotional expression and the development of an observing self.
  • Learn tools to separate from their inner critic & integrate a compassionate voice of healing.
  • Develop creative coping skills through the use of masks and role playing.

Benefits of Mask & Drama Therapy:

  • Both protective and liberating—having something to hide behind is a vehicle, rather than an obstacle, to self-exposure
  • Identifies and addresses intrapersonal power struggle (Critical Self vs. Compassionate Self)
  • No longer confined to the internal mind, the critical voice is now embodied, verbalized and witnessed
  • Creates the space to talk to the critical voice, set a boundary and verbalize new choices for physical and emotional health
  • For many it is in the context of drama that they can have the experience of embodying an untapped part of themselves
